フィリピン共和国情報通信技術省とのMoU締結について

株式会社JTOWER（本社：東京都港区、代表取締役社長：田中敦史、以下「JTOWER」という。）は、Global Network Inc（本社：ブルネイ、以下「GNI」という。）（以下総称して「フィリピンタワーコンソーシアム」という。）と共同でフィリピン共和国情報通信技術省（The Department of Information and Communications Technology、以下「DICT」という。）とフィリピン共和国内における屋外通信タワーシェアリング事業展開への協力に向けた覚書（以下「MoU」という。）を締結致しました。
　
本MoUにおいて、フィリピンタワーコンソーシアムとDICTは、フィリピン国内に求められるタワー事業実現に向けてお互いに協力することを規定しています。
　
DICTのエリセオ・リオ ジュニア長官は、「フィリピン国内には現在約2万本の屋外通信タワーが存在するが、同国内の通信環境の改善、発展、また来たるべき5G時代に向けて追加で約5万本の屋外通信タワーが必要」と公言しております。
　
JTOWERは、昨年10月に発表した通り、来たる5G時代を見据えて屋外通信タワーシェアリング事業への参入を計画しており、フィリピン国内における屋外通信タワー需要にも応えられるよう、日本の最先端の技術力・経験を活かした高付加価値のタワー事業を展開して参ります。
加えて、これまで日本及び東南アジア諸国（ベトナム・ミャンマー）で培った屋内通信インフラシェアリング事業の知見・経験を活かし、同国内におけるあらゆる場所での通信環境の改善、発展に貢献していきたいと考えております。

Signing of Memorandum of Understanding(“MoU”) with The Department of Information and Communications Technology of Republic of the Philippines(“DICT”)

JTOWER Inc., having its principal business at Minato-ku Tokyo, Japan lead by Atsushi Tanaka as Representative Director(hereinafter “JTOWER”) and GLOBAL NETWORK Inc. (headquarters: Brunei Darussalam, hereinafter “GNI”)(collectively hereinafter “Phil Tower Consortium”), jointly signed the Memorandum of Understanding(“MoU”) with The Department of Information and Communications Technology of Republic of the Philippines(“DICT”) in the form of a joint commitment for bringing the best telecommunications advancements to the country.
　
Under the agreement, both parties will partner to ensure effective coordination and implementation of technology towards meeting the country’s demand for affordable and reliable communications services.
　
DICT Acting Secretary Eliseo Rio Jr. earlier said the country needs an additional 50,000 towers to improve telecommunication services, increase coverage and prepare the telecommunications industry for 5G technologies.
　
As JTOWER publicly announced last October, we will enter the field of macro towers sharing solution for the next stage of the mobile infra-sharing services, such as coming 5G. In this sense, JTOWER is not only the position to bring infra-sharing solution to address this growing demand, but also ready to bring Japan’s state-of-the-art infra-sharing technology and deploy the value added solution into the market of Philippines.
　
Furthermore, JTOWER is convinced that using our knowledge and experience of In-Building Mobile Infra-Sharing cultivated in Japan and Southeast Asian market (Vietnam and Myanmar), to contribute to improvement and development of the communication environment in every place in the Philippines.
